Conservation Projects

ISV conservation projects are designed to broaden awareness of environmental issues and offer hands-on, practical experience in conservation work and/or research. Each two-week project is dedicated to make a difference in endangered species conservation, scientific research, habitat restoration, and education concerning sustainable use and natural resource management.

Volunteer projects run in collaboration with a variety of local and international conservation organizations, including not-for-profits, local governments, universities, private researchers, and grassroots organizations. Accommodations vary with each project, ranging from home stays within the local community, National Park huts, hostels, bunkhouses, tent camping, etc. All meals are included during conservation projects while foods generally reflect local cuisine.

ISV envisions the program experience provided will enlighten participants on various conservation issues faced in society through their host country, home country, and global community. No prior experience in conservation work or environmental fields of study is required in order to participate.

ISV conservation projects take place in Australia, Costa Rica, Eastern Europe, Ecuador, New Zealand, South Africa and Thailand.
