In addition to the five included activities in the ISV Costa Rica adventure tour, ISV is pleased to offer participants traveling to Costa Rica this exciting Optional Activity Package (OAP). These activities are more of the best that Costa Rica has to offer in outdoor adventure and appreciation of the spectacular natural surroundings. Each year about 95% of participants choose the ISV Optional Activity Package as it adds such great value to the overall experience. All activities in the package will be organised by ISV staff prior to arrival, which ensures availability so that a participant won’t miss out. All participants have to do is show up and be ready to have a great time!

Selvatura Park
Canopy Tour
isvTrek through Monteverde’s amazing cloud forest on a maze of suspended bridges while zip-lining from location to location. You will experience one of the tallest and fastest zip-line rides in the world. Zip though the clouds! Selvatura Park is the only one located inside the actual virgin cloud forest of Monteverde! A favourite among participants every year This is not to be missed!
Guided hike through Monteverde Cloud Forest Biological Preserve with a professional naturalist/guide isvWith the guidance of a local expert, experience one of the most outstanding wildlife sanctuaries in the New World Tropics while hiking through this preserve, and learn about some of the spectacular and unique plants and animals. As you explore the forest, listen for the sounds of howler monkeys and watch for blue morpho butterflies, hummingbirds and the spectacular rainforest bird, the resplendent quetzal
Horseback Riding in Monteverde isvThis activity is for everyone, even for those who have never been on a horse! Mount up right in the town center of Santa Elena near Monteverde and ride through a typical Costa Rican farm with coffee and banana plants, and a private secondary forest with views of the Pacific Coast. Listen and watch for the unique bell bird that inhabits this area.
Arenal Volcano Evening Hot Springs isvRelax in natural hot springs for the evening, one of the biggest draws of the region. The thermal pools range from warm to HOT and are surrounded by beautiful vegetation. There are waterfalls to soothe tired shoulders and a swim-up bar for ice-cold refreshments. The real bonus at this open-air spa is the possibility of seeing Volcano Arenal erupting from the comfort of the pool.
Rappel at Arenal Adventure World Ecological Park isvGet set for adrenaline and adventure while descending a 30 metre free fall and then another 50 metres down the Pino Blanco waterfall. This is the largest rappel in Costa Rica and will be an unforgettable experience for all the lovers of extreme sports and adrenaline.
Two hour guided snorkelling trip isvSnorkel in deep waters off a boat with a professional guide and get up close to the amazing variety of marine life in the Pacific. Schools of tropical fish, reef-sharks, rays, and sea turtles are commonly seen while snorkelling off the boat. Watch for dolphins racing ahead while cruising to an off-shore destination!
