ISV placed 359 volunteers with three different organizations and three different independent ISV initiatives: Crossroads, Community Service Alliance, Blue Moon Project, Bahoruco Project, El Cachote Project and Jarabacoa Project. ISV groups were involved in various construction projects in 12 different villages. In addition to improving village infrastructure and implementing its own fully structured Children’s Program within the host organization projects and own initiatives, ISV also took part in conservation efforts in 2008. Approximately 650+ children across the projects benefited from the ISV Children’s Program. The vast majority of student testimonies reflect a life changing and heart- warming experience that proved culturally educational and fun while at the same time making a contribution to social community development and helping the poorest of the poor in the Dominican Republic.
