Costa Rica - Flight Options (Australian and New Zealand Participants)

Option# 1 / Fly with the ISV Group Los Angeles (LAX) and Costa Rica (SJO)
ISV Group Flights to Los Angeles (LAX), USA, will depart from Sydney (SYD), Melbourne (MEL) and Auckland (AKL). ISV Group Flights to San Jose (SJO), Costa Rica, will depart from Los Angeles (LAX).
As stated in the ISV contract, please note that group flights are only available for those departing on the dates below – if you are not participating in the Spanish Language and Cultural Immersion Program prior to the start of your volunteer project, you will need to organise your own return flights.
The ISV group flight needs to be booked as a whole – unfortunately we cannot offer one way or sectors of the Costa Rica group flight. Cost for round trip flight is as follows:

Air taxes: Please note that air taxes are determined independently by the Airlines and may vary from those stated above. Final taxes and airline surcharges will be calculated prior to issuing of tickets and added to your final invoice.
Option# 2 / Arrange Your "Own Flight" to Costa Rica
Participants taking their own flight must still fill out the Online Flight Reservation Form (at right). This confirms with ISV that you have decided to organise your own flight and ISV will release your seat after 90 days prior to departure. It is important for all Own Flight participants to send a copy of their flight itinerary via email to the ISV office for their records.
Participants arranging their own flight must arrive at the same time or prior to the arrival of participants on the specific ISV group flight above.
Participants organising their own flight to Costa Rica are also responsible for domestic transport from the airport to ISV’s accommodations in Heredia, San Jose and attend the 12pm Host Country Welcome Orientation meeting on the day the ISV Group Flight arrives in Costa Rica. Attendance at this meeting is compulsory. Specific details will be provided in the Participant Travel Manual which will be available approximately 30 days prior to departure.
